Getting Started

Hey everyone,  I am now an official member of two online dating sites, E-Harmony (E.H) and Plenty Of Fish (P.O.F). To be honest creating accounts for both these sites can seem like a daunting task with the amount of questions you have to answer. Nonetheless, I recommend that you put at least 30 minutes aside, to take your time and to answer all the questions truthfully.   E.H even creates a "Personality Profile" for you which is based on the answers you provided when creating an account.  Mine turned out to be pretty accurate, which gives me confidence that the matches they recommend for you might actually be accurate as well.

Things you can expect to find in your personality profile include information on:

• Agreeableness
• Openness
• Emotional Stability
• Conscientiousness
• Extraversion

With this profile you can choose to either keep it for yourself, or share it with other individuals that you meet along the way.  P.O.F has a similar feature, but instead of telling you things about your personality it shares information about your chemistry and what you're looking for in a relationship.  I found this to not be very accurate for me, and was not as impressed with it as I was with E.H's profile.  

So once I got my accounts up and running, I started to experiment and network with other individuals. I learned pretty quickly that if you don't subscribe to E.H then you basically can't do anything.  I found this to be very misleading, but a good advertising technique.  They set you up with matches each day, and various different people send you requests to chat or to answer questions.  When you try to respond, E.H automatically sends you to their subscription page asking you to subscribe.  So basically my time on E-Harmony was short lived, but I will continue to go on the site and see what it is all about.  I have a feeling it is probably one of the better dating sites out there, so I am a little disappointed that I had minimal access to many of their different features.
